Regulatory Radar™

Only the changes that touch your jurisdictions, sectors and operations, source-backed and practitioner-verified.

An annual service that watches for changes in the rules and tells you only about the ones that matter to you. You set your footprint once: where you operate, in which sectors, and what you do. Each change that a practitioner has reviewed is matched to it. You receive what it changes for you and who should own it.

In plain words

What this is, and whether you need it.

What it is

A service that follows changes in the rules for you. New laws, regulations and regulator decisions appear all the time, in many countries. Most do not affect you. Radar keeps a short profile of your business (the countries you operate in, your sectors, and what you do there) and only tells you about the changes that match it. Each change is checked by a practitioner first, and comes with what it changes for you and who should deal with it.

When to use it

When your business operates in more than one country and nobody has time to read every change. Also when you are in a sector where rules move quickly, when you have been surprised by a change you did not know about, or when you want a regular, reliable view for your board.

How to use it

Tell us about your business through the request form. Then sign in to My WLA and set your footprint profile: countries, sectors, operations, how many alerts you want, and how often you want a board summary. From then on, when a reviewed change matches your profile, it appears in your Radar and we e-mail you.

What you gain

You hear about the changes that affect you and not the rest. Each one comes with what it means for your business and who should own it, so it does not sit unread. You can see what has been dealt with and what has not, and escalate to your board when needed.

A simple example

THE SITUATION

A company has staff and customers in Poland and India, and sells software. It has one legal team and no time to follow regulators in every country.

WITHOUT RADAR

The team reads general newsletters and hears about changes late or by chance. A change that matters to the company's data handling in one of its countries is noticed only when a customer asks about it.

WITH RADAR

The company sets its profile once. When a reviewed change touches its countries and sector, an item appears in its Radar with what it changes for the company and the person who should own it. The legal team deals with the item, marks it done, and escalates serious ones to the board.

Is it right for you?

Use it when rules change faster than you can follow them.

You operate in several countries

Each one has its own regulators and its own changes.

Your sector moves fast

Technology, finance, health and similar sectors see frequent change.

You have been surprised before

A change affected you and you heard about it late.

You want one owner per change

You want each change to arrive with a suggested person to deal with it.

You report to a board

You need a regular, reliable view of legal change for directors.

You want less noise

You want only the changes that match your business.

NOT THE RIGHT PRODUCT IF

You want a full written assessment of one decision, use Cross-Border Decision Map™. You want the deadlines of your companies, use Entity Compliance Calendar™. You already know which lawyer you need, use People & Firms.

NOT SURE?

Send a short note through Brief WLA, or start from Ask WLA, and we will point you to the right product. WLA itself does not give legal advice; it introduces the right firm.

What you receive

Five parts, from your profile to the lawyer who can act.

Radar has five parts. Each one is explained below in plain words.

  1. 01

Your footprint profile: jurisdictions, sectors, operations

The description of your business that Radar uses to decide what is relevant. You can change it at any time in My WLA.

  2. 02

Impact items for each relevant reviewed signal

One item for each reviewed change that matches your profile. Changes that have not been reviewed are never shown.

  3. 03

What it changes for you, and the owner

In plain words, what the change means for your business, and who in your organisation should deal with it.

  4. 04

Escalation into the Board Legal Risk Brief™

Serious items can be escalated into the Board Legal Risk Brief™ for your directors.

  5. 05

    Counsel to act on it

Where you need a lawyer to act, WLA introduces the designated firm in that country.

What an impact item looks like

An invented example, to show the shape of an item. Real items come from reviewed signals and are matched to your own profile.

Questions

Before you ask.

Is this software, a report or a service?

A service. WLA reviews the changes and matches them to your profile. You follow the result in your WLA account and by e-mail. It is not an app you configure and run on your own.

Is this legal advice?

No. World Law Alliance does not provide legal services and is not a law firm. Radar tells you about changes and what they may mean for you. Where advice is needed, WLA introduces the designated partner firm in that country, which is solely responsible for the advice it gives.

Who checks the changes?

The engine drafts from WLA records and sources. It does not establish what the law currently is. A practitioner reviews each signal before it can reach you, and every item shows its source.

What if nothing matches my profile?

Then you receive nothing. That is the point. Your Radar shows how many reviewed changes match you, so you can see that it is working.

Can I change my profile?

Yes, at any time in My WLA. New matches use your latest profile.

What are the alert levels?

Each change is marked High, Active or Watch. You can choose to receive all of them, or only High and Active.

How will I be told about a change?

You receive an e-mail when an impact item is added to your Radar. Items stay in your account so that you can see what has been dealt with.

What is the Board Legal Risk Brief™?

A short summary of legal risk for your directors. Serious impact items can be escalated into it. See Board Legal Risk Brief™.

Where can I see an example of a signal?

See the India DPDP Rules signal for an example of how a change is reported.

How much does it cost, and what is the term?

Radar is an annual service. WLA confirms scope and fee in writing before work begins. Sending a request carries no obligation.

How is my information handled?

It is treated as confidential and used to respond to your request. See the privacy policy for details.

Do I need an account?

We set one up for you from your work email so you can follow the request and your Radar. You sign in with a one-time code sent to that email.
