WLA announced that Mikael Wahlgren has been appointed as a member of WLA’s Global Executive Board and Global Council of FICM. He will be the WLA Ambassador for the Scandinavian region, effective January 1 2021.

Mikael comes with a long and rich international experience as General Counsel and a corporate lawyer in a number of multinational Swedish and foreign listed companies ( Alfa Laval, Skanska, ABB, RollsRoyce and NCC). He has been handling, organizing and advising the senior management, boards and other managers and employees on Swedish and international business law issues.

In his role, Mikael will lead WLA in the Scandinavian region and will be responsible for aligning resources that will help WLA drive execution across all of its initiatives and businesses.

With his appointment, WLA’s Global Executive board now comprises 5 directors, 3 of which are nominated and are independently representing different jurisdictions. Mikael will be subject to appointment for additional roles at the next WLA Global Executive Board meeting. Meanwhile, he has been appointed to serve as the Regional Leader of Scandinavia from its office in Sweden.
