Agba is the Managing Partner of the Firm and heads the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group. He is an active member of the local branch of the Nigerian Bar Association “NBA” and has served in various capacities both at the national and branch level.
He is a member of the Judiciary Committee of the NBA and a co-opted member of the Executive Committee of the Lagos branch of the NBA. He is also a member of the Section on Legal Practice of the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association with particular interest in the Dispute Resolution Section.
He regularly advises various local and international clients in high profile commercial disputes and represents them before superior Courts of record and Tribunals across the country. He currently represents a multinational insurance company in several high-profile cases including but not limited to a claim from a goods-in-transit insurance policy worth several millions of Naira; representing the leading political party in Nigeria in a dispute on the justiciability of chapter 2 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999; representing a major player in the Movie and Entertainment industry on the infringement of its trademark by an international company in the wine and spirits industry and representing an expatriate employee in a multi-million Naira claim against a leading oil servicing company in Nigeria.
Agba is involved in the conduct of legal due diligence investigations, he was a member of a team that conducted a due diligence exercise on behalf of a European financial institution with respect to its entry into the Nigerian market and consequent investment in the Nigerian financial industry. He is currently providing legal advice and acts as Solicitor to the Estates of high-net-worth individuals valued at about eight million and two million USD respectively.
Agba has very broad exposure in real estate. He regularly advises on commercial and residential real estate transactions, leasehold acquisitions and disposals. He acts for project developers and investors and he has advised a large multi-national retail chain on real estate acquisitions in Nigeria.
He advises clients on legal issues relating to insolvency, receivership and bankruptcy. He has successfully represented companies in debt recovery and receivership proceedings involving the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).
Agba is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK and a Notary Public. Prior to joining AARNDALE, he practiced at Babalakin & Co, Paul Usoro & Co and Aelex Legal Practitioners & Arbitrators where he garnered vast experience in diverse areas of law.
