Mr. William Leung, founder of his law firm, has been a practicing solicitor of the High Court of the Hong Kong SAR since 1988. He holds an LL.M. from the University of London, an MBA from the University of Hong Kong, and advanced degrees in Chinese and Economic Law from China University of Political Science and Law and Peking University, respectively. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), Mr. Leung serves as a panel arbitrator with multiple international arbitration institutions, including HKIAC, SIAC, CIETAC, and KLRCA. Mr. William Leung, founder of his law firm, has been a practicing solicitor of the High Court of the Hong Kong SAR since 1988. He obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of London in 1988 and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Hong Kong in 1992. To deepen his understanding of cross-border legal systems, he pursued a Bachelor in Chinese Law from the China University of Political Science and Law in 1997 and a Master in Economic Law from Peking University in 2002.
Mr. Leung is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), as well as of the Hong Kong and Singapore Institutes of Arbitrators. He serves as a Panel Arbitrator with leading international arbitration institutions, including the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC), Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA), Korean Commercial Arbitration Board, and several regional arbitration commissions in China.
Since 2001, Mr. Leung has been appointed by both the Hong Kong High Court and the Hong Kong Official Receiver as company liquidator in corporate insolvency cases. In 2016, he was granted the status of Solicitor Advocate, with higher rights of audience before Hong Kong’s superior courts, including the High Court, the Competition Tribunal, and the Court of Final Appeal.
Mr. Leung is also actively involved in the global arbitration community. He has served on the ICC Commission on Arbitration and contributed to the Task Force on the Revision of the ICC Rules of Arbitration (2013). He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute and a member of the Executive Committee of the China Academy of Arbitration Law.
