C.M. (Kees) Van Der Burg is a founding partner at Bos Van Der Burg Advocaten, where he has been advising clients since 1991. He studied Dutch law at Leiden University, followed by specialised postgraduate courses in Insolvency Law at Insolad and Real Property at the Grotius Academy. Kees began his career at the Haarlem District Court in 1989 and then worked as an attorney at Van Hartingsveldt & Roest in Leiden until 1991, before co-founding his current firm.
Kees has built a distinguished career in company law and property law, acting as lead counsel on numerous complex transactions, including international deals in Spain, the United States, and other jurisdictions. His practice also spans labour law, landlord and tenant law, mergers & acquisitions, dispute resolution, corporate governance, compliance & risk, arbitration, mediation, and tax advisory.
He leads several practice groups, including Transactional Practice, Intellectual Property, Insolvency and Restructuring, Global Dispute, Tax, Labour and Employment, Immigration, Injury and Terrorism, and Global Arbitration and Mediation.
Kees is a member of the Association of Real Estate Lawyers and the Association of Debt Collection and Litigation Lawyers (VIA). In accordance with Article 35b(1) of the Legal Profession Regulations, he is registered in the Netherlands Bar for corporate law, real estate law, labour law, and general/civil law, maintaining professional development through annual training credits in each area.
