No exceptions. No waivers. Every WLA Qualified firm has been assessed against the same six criteria — and is re-assessed annually. The criteria are not aspirational. They are the minimum standard for holding a WLA designation.
Active admission to practice in the designated jurisdiction. No exceptions — local qualification is the baseline, not an aspiration.
Demonstrable specialism in the designated practice area — not a generalist with a practice group name. Evidence of active caseload and relevant transactions required.
Demonstrated capability to work across borders — in the language of international business, under international frameworks, with international counterparties.
Clean disciplinary record. Good standing with the relevant bar association or regulatory body. No ongoing investigations or sanctions.
Genuine capacity to hold cross-border mandates jointly — the right team size, the right infrastructure, the right conflict management process to co-practice at the institutional level.
Active commitment to the WLA institutional framework — including annual review, corridor intelligence participation, and the WLA co-practice protocol standards.

WLA offers two designation tiers — each with a distinct institutional role, distinct responsibilities, and a distinct position within the WLA co-practice framework.
One firm per practice per jurisdiction. The foundational WLA designation. USD 995 per practice per year. The exclusive holder of that practice in that jurisdiction within the WLA framework.
One firm per side of a corridor. The senior WLA designation. USD 2,995 per corridor per year. Named Corridor Leader, Corridor Executive Desk, corridor intelligence co-production, named at UNBOUNDED™. 2026 Founding status is permanent.
