Ernest Awungjia Fondong, Esq, is the Founder and Managing Partner of Fondong & Partners, where he spearheads the firm’s Commercial and Corporate practice. Before founding the firm in 2020, Ernest began his legal career as a Pupil Advocate at Tanyi Mbi & Partners in 2015, became an Associate in 2018, and previously served as a Pupil Sheriff Bailiff at Jingwa Chambers, responsible for enforcing and executing court judgments. He also worked part-time as a Human Rights Officer at the Help Out Centre for Human Rights (NGO) in Buea, Cameroon.

Ernest’s practice covers corporate governance, corporate finance, capital markets, incorporation of companies under OHADA, business law, statutory compliance, human rights, immigration, labor and employment, family law, real estate, foreign direct investment, oil and gas, and mining. He is widely recognized for his expertise in compliance and has advised numerous foreign companies on regulatory matters. Additionally, he has assisted in the flotation and restructuring of many local and international businesses operating in Cameroon.
