Joanne was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2009. Prior to that, she graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Liverpool and was subsequently called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2008.
She mainly handles litigation matters concerning family disputes where she garnered experience from highly contentious matrimonial proceedings involving cross border divorce, custody of children, interfaith conversions & division of matrimonial assets which are repeatedly reported in the Malaysian legal journals and leading local newspapers. Although her practice primarily focuses on matrimonial disputes, she has a wide-ranging expertise in representing individuals on matters relating to contested probate and defamation.
She also partakes in public interest litigations which many are recognised as landmark cases both in Malaysia and internationally.
