Hans is a pragmatic stoic

Hans Klaver is a corporate lawyer who is based in Amsterdam. Hans read both business law and tax law at Leiden University, the Netherlands. After obtaining his degrees, Hans started working as a lawyer at Allen & Overy, and then joined corporate boutique law firm Spigthoff later on.

In Chicago, he worked as an advisor on Dutch corporate governance matters at Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS), Inc. in 2004 and 2005. On his return to the Netherlands, Hans became a partner at a corporate finance firm (Head of Legal Affairs) where he specialised further in Dutch corporate law and finance.

Hans joined Penrose in Amsterdam as a corporate law partner on 1 October 2012. He is an expert on the legal aspects of finance. His experience as a corporate finance advisor enables him to readily communicate with Dutch and international entrepreneurs and investors. At Penrose, Hans is leader of the team responsible for finance transactions and finance litigation.
