Filipe’s professional activity includes extensive experience in advising clients in Corporate Law, Commercial Law and Insolvency Law, Real Estate Law and Pharmaceutical Law.

In this area, he has actively participated in corporate restructuring, mergers, spin-offs, acquisitions, refinancing and restructuring of assets and business groups, as well as in the incorporation and restructuring of companies and business groups, advising several national and foreign companies.

He has developed his activity with special focus on the Republic of Angola and in advising several companies and citizens of Portuguese nationality in their internationalization processes.

In addition, he has participated in several real estate development operations, real estate investment and disinvestment operations, real estate financing and refinancing operations, real estate contracts, licensing procedures and urban planning operations, having also integrated multidisciplinary project support teams.

Finally, with regard to the activity in Pharmaceutical Law, he has been providing various legal advice to pharmaceutical retailers and wholesalers, credit recovery and asset restructuring, as well as structuring operations for the purchase, sale and restructuring of pharmacies.

He began his career at HAAG – Sociedade de Advogados, R.L., from 2000 to 2012, as a trainee lawyer and associate, where he worked primarily in the Litigation, Commercial Law, Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Real Estate Law, Pharmaceutical Law.

Between 2012 and 2013 he joined ABBC – Azevedo Neves, Benjamim Mendes, Carvalho & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados, R.L. (focus firm of DLA Piper in Portugal), as of-counsel, in the preferential practice areas of Commercial Law, Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Pharmaceutical Law.

He was founding partner of Rogério Alves & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados, R.L. since 2013 and co-responsible for Business Law and leading the Corporate Law, Pharmaceutical Law and International Business Law Units (Angola and Portuguese-speaking countries) until June 2019.

Education

Law Degree, in 2000, from the Law Faculty of the Lusíada University of Lisbon;

Completed the specialization course in Taxation at OVERGEST-ISCTE in 2001;

Completed a Post-Graduation Course in Securities Law at the Securities Institute of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, in 2006;

Completed a Post-Graduate Degree in Spatial Planning and Urban Planning Law by the Institute of Legal and Political Sciences of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, in 2008;

Post-graduation in General Data Protection Regulation, by the Lisbon Catholic School of Business & Economics, in 2017;

Participation in the “Fintech Disruption” Programme, by the Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, 2018.

Member of the Portuguese Bar Association.
